10 Best Darts Walk on Songs of All Time (Ranked)

One of the best moments in darts is the walk on.

It builds up the atmosphere and lets players show off their personalities (or lack off…) while connecting with the fans.

Obviously, not everyone is going to be a showman with it and some people have the driest, most boring walk ons we’ve ever seen.

Some people though are top tier👌

Therefore, we’ve made a list of the best darts walk on songs of all time.

These are a combination or good song choice, a song that fits the player well and in some circumstances, a walk on that gives us goosebumps moments before the match has even begun….

Best Darts Walk on Songs

10) Daryl Gurney: Sweet Caroline

We have a few songs on this list that a crowd of people (not just darts fans) can’t resist singing along to.

Sweet Caroline is one of them.

“SuperChin” has found a good way to get the crowd on his side with this song.

A comment on YouTube states:

“No matter what the sport, I will always watch a video with this song and a crowd”

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. No matter what player picked this song, it was bound to make a top 10 list!

9) Wayne Mardle: Hawaii Five-O

A true character, Wayne Mardle is the Marmite of darts, you either love him or hate him.

There’s no denying he was entertaining during his time at the oche.

Hawaii 501 would rock his Hawaiian shirts with confidence and his walk on was fun and entertaining, just like he was.

8) Phil Taylor: The Power

The best darts player of all time. Phil Taylor won everything there is to win in darts but that wasn’t enough for him. He had to win everything, year after year after year.

This went on for two decades as Taylor set some records in darts that will never be broken.

We don’t think he has the best walk on but he certainly has the most suitable song.

Fortunately for Taylor, The Power was a catchy song so he got the perfect song to complement his nickname.

7) Gary Anderson: Jump Around

Gary Anderson is one of the most respected darts players of all time.

Loved by fans and players alike, he was unfortunate to play in both the Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen eras where trophies were hard to come by outside of those two.

Even still, he’s one of the most decorated players of all time with 8 PDC Major titles including 2 World Championships so to say he held his own would be an understatement.

For a loved player, he also picked a loved song.

Jump Around gets the fans going before the game and sets a good atmosphere for the Scotsman. It’s not the best walk on but it’s up there.

6) Joe Cullen: Don’t Look Back in Anger

There are just certain songs that crowds have to sing along to and “Don’t Look Back in Anger” by Oasis is one of them.

Joe Cullen is a Manchester United fan so it seems strange that he’d pick a song by Oasis when both the Gallagher brothers are avid Manchester City fans.

Cullen has a good reason though.

He chose this song as a ‘Manchester’ song in honour of the victims of the Manchester Arena bombing.

Respect to Joe for this!

5) Raymond van Barneveld: Eye of the Tiger

Raymond van Barneveld is one of the best players of all time.

Not only does he have one of the smoothest throws ever but he also has a smooth choice of walk on.

“Eye of the Tiger” is obviously known worldwide for the Rocky films but if you’re a darts fan, you know it belongs to Barney.

He put the Netherlands on the darting map and inspired a generation of darts players, so, it’s only fitting that he has an inspirational song to match.

4) Nathan Aspinall: Mr Brightside

We’ve said this a few times now, there are certain songs in the world that people are just obligated to sing along to. Mr Brightside is right up there with the best of them.

The Asp knew what he was doing when he picked this song.

Probably one of the most down to earth and relatable players in darts history, fans already love Aspinall as a person but when you combine it with a song like this you know the fans are going to lap it up!

As someone rightfully pointed out on one of his walk on videos, Mr Brightside is a walk on ‘cheat code’ 🤣

3) Peter Wright: Don’t Stop the Party

One of the greatest showmen darts has ever seen.

The 2 x World Champion, Peter Wright is known for his outlandish outfits and colourful mohawk designs.

For a crowd favourite, it’s only right that he has a walk on that is high tempo.

Don’t stop the party by Pitbull is just that.

He gets the crowd pumped up with it and even has his little shuffle dance on stage to go along with it.

Top Tier walk on!

2) Michael van Gerwen: Seven Nation Army

One of the best to ever play, MVG’s song choice was marketing genius.

He’s incredible on the oche and Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes is a perfect song choice for him.

His walk on literally allows the crowd to join in and chant his name singing:

“Ohhhh Michael van Gerwen, Ohhhh Michael van Gerwen”

This is the ultimate combination of song and player.

Well done to either MVG himself or his agent for choosing this song 👏

1) William O’Connor: Zombie

Opinion will be 50/50 on this one.

We’re ranking this the best walk on of all time but there’s a catch…

In our opinion (and many others) it was the song mixed with the occasion that has made this one of the best walk ons ever.

In the 2020 Premier League, William O’Connor walked out to zombie in front of the crowd in Dublin, Ireland and created the best walk on atmosphere darts has ever seen.

This doesn’t get the same reception outside of Ireland but which is what makes it debatable for the top spot but just watch the video above and you’ll know why we’ve got it first!

Walk ons are known for boxing and wrestling, high impact and engaging sports.

Adding them to darts was just a game changer. Cheerleaders on stage, crowds joining in with the song choices, who would have thought walk on songs in darts could become such a huge part of the game!

What did you think of our choices? Let us know in the comments if we’ve missed any that you think should 100% be on this list or who you’d move around.
