Luke Littler continues to make darts history as he beat Michael Smith 11-4 to win the 2024 Jack’s World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam on Sunday evening.

In his World Series of Darts debut, Luke Littler has continued his sensational campaign by winning the Finals in more than convincing fashion!

He beat Michael Smith 11-4 in the final and while Smith was close early in the match, tied at 3-3, Littler took seven straight legs to make this a dominant victory over the World Number 2.

His 102.21 average and 33.3% on checkouts were a strong showing but this arguably wasn’t his best performance of the day.

In the semi-finals, Littler was drawn against Michael van Gerwen.

The crowd favourite had already beaten a tournament favourite (Luke Humphries) earlier in the day and it looked to be a close matchup between the two.

This was not to be the case though as Littler put on a dominant performance.

A 107.95 average was accompanied by Littler winning nine consecutive legs as he came from 4-2 down to beat MVG 11-4.

We can’t recall a time in recent memory a player of MVG’s calibre being so heavily dominated like that and after winning the final, Littler’s post tournament comments were evident of his own self confidence…

Luke Littler Says He Played “Unbelievably” to Win World Series of Darts Finals

After convincingly beating both Michael van Gerwen and Michael Smith, Luke Littler told Online Darts how he felt unbeatable:

“Tonight I felt like no one could beat me.

“I felt on top of the world, as anyone would, especially when I’m putting in silly numbers and that just goes to show why I’ve come here as the number 1 seed.”

He followed up these comments by stating that he wants to keep building on his success for far and is eyeing further glory in 2024:

“I’m just happy to be stood here with the trophy at the end of a long day.

“I felt relaxed tonight and I played really well across the whole weekend.

“This time last year I was playing on the Development Tour; my name was getting mentioned but after the World Championship everyone knew who I was.

“I’m going to keep building on this and winning more; it’s a busy schedule coming up and I’m ready for it.”

Luke Littler is definitely a darting phenom at this stage and no one can claim he’s had a ‘lucky’ spell any more.

This was his fourth TV title on his debut as a professional darts player, all at the age of 17 is incredible.

With that rise to fame though he is still facing intense media coverage for a player so young.

In the same interview a reporter asked about his ex girlfriend, a comment that did not go down too well with the darts community:

Clearly fans are getting annoyed about the negative media coverage now and while not all dart fans are Luke Littler fans, most can respect that he doesn’t deserve this sort of media pressure – especially at such a young age…
