The league phase of the 2025 Premier League Darts concluded last week with Luke Littler topping the table for the second year in a row.
The World Champion won a record 6 nights and also set a new record for points total with 45, as he heads into the play-offs to compete with Luke Humphries, Nathan Aspinall and Gerwyn Price.
When the Premier League line-up was announced at the start of the year, both Price and Aspinall were subjected to harsh public criticism for their inclusion following sub-par seasons for the pair in 2024.
Aspinall was even called out publicly by fellow players Dave Chisnall and Mike De Decker…

With both making it to the play-offs, this has pretty much justified the PDC’s decision to include them and also gives weight to the old saying: “form is temporary, class is permanent”.
It’s been a year of £30,000 darts being awarded for 9-darters, an 18 year old smashing records, and one of the greatest darts players ever missing out on finals night 😱
Before the play-offs get underway, we’ve compiled some of the best moments of the 2025 Premier League Darts season below.

Gerwyn Price ‘Gives It Back’ to Heckling Crowd
He’s painted as a darts pantomime villain, but a more positive attitude in 2025 has surprisingly seen Gerwyn Price become a bit of a fan favourite at times.
He’s had some blistering performance in this year’s Premier League racking up three nightly wins and securing play-off qualification.
He hit two nine-darters (securing £60,000 worth of golden darts as a prize for this feat) but arguably his best moment of the season came in typical Price fashion.
Night 2 was infamous this season with the Glasgow crowd labelled ‘embarrassing’ and ‘pathetic’ for constant whistling and booing throughout the night.
This is something Price is used to as he’s often on the receiving end but his response in Glasgow was brilliant. Following a 180, he turned around and whistled right back at the crowd:

Luke Humphries saw the funny side and even some of the crowd had to applaud that response!
Luke Littler Makes Premier League History
After the first few weeks of Premier League action, darts fans on X were saying darts is going to become boring as Luke Littler is ‘just too good’.
The youngest ever World Champion has been breaking records ever since he burst onto the scene in late 2023.
Most questioned if he should have been included in the 2024 Premier League, only for him to go on and top the table and win the play-off finals night.
In 2025, he picked up where he left off last year as he topped the table for the second consecutive season.
This time, he made history with another record…
Six nightly wins is a record since the introduction of the current Premier League format, and his record-breaking fifth coming against Michael van Gerwen surely put to bed any lingering whispers of the youngster being overhyped.

Luke Humphries Hits First Televised Nine Darter
There were five total nine-darters in the 2025 season. Luke Litter, Luke Humphries, Rob Cross and Gerwyn Price (x2) all produced the maximum with a £30,000 set of gold darts awarded to the players achieving this.
Headline sponsor BetMGM hopefully budgeted for this marketing stunt as they’ve had to produce £150,000 worth of gold darts so far as a result.
With the maximum’s flying in, Luke Humphries arguably had the most memorable.
His nine-darter in Brighton was the first televised nine-darter of his career and due to technical issues with Sky Sports, it ALMOST wasn’t aired!
Fortunately the moment was captured and it was another accolade to add to the world number one’s growing list of achievements in darts.
Michael van Gerwen’s EPIC Five Leg Comeback Against Luke Humphries
MVG is going through one of the worst patches in his illustrious darts career. 2025 is now a season where he has failed to win a night and also has not qualified for the play-off for only the second time in his career.
The inconsistency is difficult to watch. He has had first matches where he’s blown away the opponent, only to follow it up with an average performance by his standards.
Still, he’s provided glimpses that his very top game is still there if he can tap into it more often.
This was most evident during Night 7 when it came back from 4-1 down against Luke Humphries with five consecutive legs to win the match.
It will be a season to forget for the Dutchman but this performance highlighted why fans want him to get back to his best!
Nathan Aspinall’s Emotional Night Win in Manchester
Nathan Aspinall was subject to harsh criticism for his inclusion in the Premier League this year and said “it ruined his life”.
He even called for a rule change so that no other player would have to go through the same criticism in the future…

For all the controversy and battles with injury and dartitis, Nathan Aspinall has had a Premier League campaign to remember.
He’s fallen short of play-off night on the last night of the season twice but last week he finally made it after finishing third in the table.
His nightly win in hometown Manchester showed what an emotional rollercoaster The Asp has been on recently and really put to bed the narrative that he was only in the Premier League ‘for his walk-on’.
Luke Littler’s SHOCK Comeback from 5-1 Down
Luke Humphries won Night One of this year’s Premier League but it didn’t take long before Luke Littler would demonstrate that the league would be his to lose.
On route to the nightly win in Glasgow, he faced early elimination after finding himself down 5-1 to Rob Cross in front of the hostile Glasgow crowd.
At 5-2, you could see the switch in Littler’s mindset following a 180 and he looked fully locked in on the task at hand. Cross is a former World Champion but this game really demonstrated that when Littler hits his full stride, it’s almost impossible to stop him.
Cross was under immense pressure from crowd whistling but the comeback from Littler was still one of the best matches of the season despite that.
Best Premier League Darts Game of All Time
The best moment of the 2025 Premier League Darts season has to be the epic showdown between Luke Littler and Luke Humphries which many are claiming as the ‘best Premier League game of all time’.
It’s not hard to see why.
It was Night 15 and both players had already secured their play-off places. Before the game people were even questioning if it was getting boring seeing these two playing so frequently but this game would prove otherwise.
Luke Humphries averaged 110, hit 9 x 180’s but LOST the game 6-3. Littler had a 116 average as the pair put on a show that looked more like an exhibition game than a prime-time televised match.
There’s talk about wanting a different format or of fans getting bored with the Premier League but it’s games like that to show why it’s still a great addition to the darts calendar each year.
The 2025 Premier League Darts campaign concludes on Thursday 29th May, hopefully they’ll be some memorable moments that can be added to this list from the night 👀
