Beau Greaves Becomes First Woman to Win a PDC Ranking Title at Players Championship 11

Beau Greaves has broken new ground in women’s darts by becoming the first woman to win a PDC ranking title at Players Championship 11.

After back-to-back quarter-final runs at Players Championship 9 & 10 last week, Beau Greaves took the next step today by winning her first PDC ranking title at Players Championship 11.

Beau has now become the first woman ever to win a title on the ProTour.

Beau is considered to be a ‘generational talent’ and has been tipped for great things for a number of years now.

After dominating the WDF women’s game with 10 major titles – of which 3 were World Championship titles – Beau has done similar in the PDC.

A 2 x Women’s World Matchplay winner, Beau has dominated the Women’s Series with 53 titles and a run that included going 114 matches unbeaten.

She has also won titles on the PDC Development Tour and Challenge Tour before eventually earning a Professional Tour card earlier this year.

A few years ago, Beau said she didn’t think women would ever be good enough to compete against the likes of Luke Littler, Luke Humphries or Michael van Gerwen.

In hindsight that quote did not age well for her, and to her benefit as she defeated three former world champions to lift her first PDC title… 👀

Beau Greaves Wins First PDC Ranking Title

Players Championship events are known to be challenging tournaments to win. Not in the same way as the atmosphere and pressure of a tv tournament but rather because it’s said to be a ‘long day’ of competing against fellow professional players.

With early matches against players ranked between the top 64 – 100 range (similar to where Beau started the day ranked joint 94th alongside Charlie Manby), she would eventually have to overcome three former world champions in the latter stages of the tournament.

A 6-5 win over Rob Cross in the quarter-finals was followed up with a 7-1 thrashing of Gary Anderson where Beau averaged 105.

In the final against Michael Smith, both players had it all to play for. Smith has had a difficult few years battling injury and a loss of form which has seen him drop down the rankings without a ranking title since 2024.

Beau was looking to make history with her first PDC ranking title and the game would come down to a tie-breaking leg.

Beau had led by 6-3 at one stage after a 170 checkout and would eventually win the match with another big checkout of 142.

The win and £15,000 in prize money moves her up to 79th in the PDC Order of Merit rankings, but it’s the title itself that will mean so much more!

“I Never Thought I’d Win One” – Beau Greaves on First Players Championship Title

Beau Greaves was emotional following the win. A combination of shock, pride and happiness all being expressed by the 22 year-old from Doncaster.

In her post game interview with the PDC, Beau would try to summarise the mix of emotions she was feeling stating:

“I can’t believe it. I was up a fair few legs and then I started to think about it and it caught up to me. I don’t know if I just thought about being the first woman to do one or…

“Honestly, I can’t believe I’ve hit that. I honestly cannot believe I took that out.

“I’ve had a great year but I just never thought I’d win one of these, never ever.”

“I know I’ve got the ability and the talent for it but just to play the players I’m playing, like, I beat Gary Anderson and I couldn’t believe it.

“Even beating Michael [Smith], I don’t know what’s happening, I’m beating players that I’ve watched growing up. It’s just amazing and I feel really proud of myself to be able to win one of these.

“I just feel really happy and I just feel so proud of myself and now hopefully I can kick on and keep doing it.”

It would seem that the sky really is the limit for Beau Greaves now.

After winning a ranking title and proving to herself more than anyone of how capable she really is, the next logical step is to set sights on a PDC major title.

That would be a huge jump though.

Beau has played in major tournaments for the last few years and with her best run being a fourth round finish in the 2025 UK Open, she’s not been able to bring her top game to the tv stages just yet.

We asked darts fans on our Facebook page in late 2025 if they believed Beau could win a major title during her career and over 60% thought she could and this was before this latest milestone achievement.

This title will be a huge confidence boost though and it will definitely be interesting to see how she continues to progress on what has already been a great darts career for someone still so young!
