The quarter-final of the 2026 Swiss Darts Trophy lineup is now confirmed as several players keep their 2026 European Championship qualification hopes alive.

Top seeds Luke Humphries, Jonny Clayton and Gian van Veen all move through to the final evening session in the 2026 Swiss Darts Trophy.

Jonny Clayton is desperately chasing a title in order to qualify for the 2026 Grand Slam of Darts and had to overcome a very stern test in the third round against Rob Cross.

Cross had a 106.68 average combined with a 67% checkout percentage but that was still not enough as Clayton was able to come through the tie 6-4.

Gian van Veen powered in a 101 average in his 6-4 victory over Tom Bissell. Gian has made the final of a Euro Tour event in his last three seasons but is yet to lift a Euro Tour title.

Luke Humphries makes the quarter-finals after demolishing Krzystof Ratajski 6-0 with a 114.15 average and 75% checkout rate 🤯

2020 World Youth Championship winner Bradley Brooks has broken new grounds on the Euro Tour. Brooks has beaten Niels Zonneveld (6-4), Chris Dobey (6-4) and Jeffrey de Graaf (6-3) to make his first ever Euro Tour quarter-final.

He’ll face Gian van Veen in the next round and has given himself an outside chance of 2026 European Championship qualification…

2026 European Championship Qualification Race Intensifies

Several players are now in contention to qualify for the 2026 European Championship.

The top 32 players on the Euro Tour Order of Merit will qualify with just one more Euro Tour event left following the conclusion of the 2026 Swiss Darts Trophy.

The 2025 Swiss Darts Trophy winner Stephen Bunting holds the 32nd spot in the Euro Tour OoM but crashed out in the second round this year along with 2024 winner Martin Schindler (31st).

This has left an opportunity for a few players below them to capitalise. Joe Cullen (34th) and Sebastian Bialecki (36th) both lost in the first round so missed the opportunity.

Former World Champion Michael Smith (35th) was pushing for a place but lost 6-3 to Dirk van Duijvenbode in the third round today making it much more difficult for him to qualify now.

Recent ranking title winner Karel Sedlacek (33rd) has made the race very interesting now after beating Josh Rock 6-1 earlier today to make the quarter-final.

Another win against Jonny Clayton would move him level on ranking money with Stephen Bunting so the Czech man has it all to play for in the evening session.

Cristo Reyes has made his second Euro Tour quarter-final of the season with a 6-4 win over Damon Heta and at 27th in the race with a £7,000 buffer, the Spaniard looks like he should now qualify.

The outside chances are now Bradley Brooks (40th) and Mensur Suljovic (41st). Both through to the quarter-finals, if either player wins the tournament they will move right up in the rankings and will almost guarantee qualification.
