The penultimate 2026 Euro Tour event concluded on Sunday evening with the 2026 Swiss Darts Trophy. Jonny Clayton would win his first Euro Tour title of the season with a 8-4 victory over Luke Humphries in the final.
Luke Humphries and Jonny Clayton made the final after both looking in dominant form all weekend. Humphries didn’t have a match where he averaged under 100 on route to the final while Clayton had to overcome some big names in Rob Cross and Gian van Veen.
The final began as an expected close affair with both players holding their throw as the match went 3-3 going into the seventh leg with both players again holding just over a 100 average.
In a first to 8 leg match, both players were still tied 4-4 at the midway point and it wasn’t until leg 10 where Clayton made the first break of throw to go 6-4 up.
From there, The Ferret was able to power on and win the match 8-4 claiming his first Euro Tour title of the season.

He’ll now be looking to claim more Major titles after moving to fifth in the all-time PDC Major title winners list!
He’ll especially be looking to win the 2026 European Championship title, as it’s just one of a few Major tournaments Cool Hand is yet to win.
He won’t be the only one with eyes on the tournament as several players are still trying to qualify following the Swiss Darts Trophy…
2026 European Championship Race
Coming into the 2026 Swiss Darts Trophy, there were several players in a close race for 2026 European Championship qualification.
The top 32 players on the Euro Tour Order of Merit qualify for the Major tournament in a few weeks and some big names are on the cut-off for qualification.
2025 Swiss Darts Trophy winner Stephen Bunting held 32nd position going into this weekend and after a second round loss he now remains there.
2024 Swiss Darts Trophy winner Martin Schindler is just a single place above Bunting and after also losing in the second round he remains there.
The chasing players outside of the qualifying place include Karel Sedlacek whose quarter-final run boosted his chances of qualification. He is then closely followed by Joe Cullen, Michael Smith and Sebastian Bialecki.
Cullen and Bialecki lost in the first round while Michael Smith who is trying to recover from years of medical issues and ranking drops teased at a good run but would eventually lose to Dirk van Duijvenbode in the third round.
Dirk alongside Cristo Reyes both look to have secured their qualifications for Dortmund after quarter-final runs.
With just one Euro Tour event to go, will do a full breakdown on the European Championship qualification race in the week as quite a few players will have it all to play for at the 2026 Dutch Darts Championship.
