It’s the final day of the 2026 Swiss Darts Trophy as top seed Luke Humphries is joined by several players still battling to qualify for the 2026 European Championship.
Recently crowned World Grand Prix champion Luke Humphries had to overcome a last-leg decider against an inspired Kevin Doets yesterday.
Doets averaged just shy of 106 to push the world number two but Luke Humphries but Humphries was able to hold his throw in the final leg to progress 6-5.

He will now face Krzysztof Ratajski in the third round and final match of the afternoon session.
Jonny Clayton also had an inspired performance in round two where he demolished Maik Kuivenhoven 6-1 with a monster 108.81.
The Welshman will meet former World Champion Rob Cross in round three. Cross himself is looking dangerous after averaging just shy of a 106 average in the first round win which he followed up by beating last year’s finalist Luke Woodhouse.
Arguably the main talking point for today though will be the players chasing European Championship qualification.

Who Will Qualify For The 2026 European Championship?
The top 32 players on the Euro Tour Order of Merit will qualify for the 2026 European Championship and a number of players are battling for the final few qualifying places.
Last year’s Swiss Darts Trophy winner Stephen Bunting is currently in the final qualifying place (32nd) but a shock second round exit yesterday puts him in danger of dropping out now.
Cristo Reyes and Dirk van Duijvenbode are £4,000 and £8,000 above the cut-off but a third round win could give them some much needed breathing room ahead of the final Euro Tour event next weekend.
Reyes will face Damon Heta but the game to watch will be Dirk van Duijvenbode vs Michal Smith.
Former world champion and world number one Michael Smith has had a torrid few seasons having fallen outside the top 32 in the world rankings and struggling to qualify for Major tournaments.
He’s currently 35th in the European Championship race and needs to make the semi-final to close the gap on Stephen Bunting or make at least the final to move into the qualifying places.
A convincing 6-4 win over Jermaine Wattimena with his first 100+ Euro Tour average in almost 18 months should give him confidence going into the third round though.
What a performance from 🏴 Michael Smith! He averages over 100 for the first time in almost 18 months to complete a 6-4 win over 🇳🇱 Jermaine Wattimena, including 3 100+ checkouts in consecutive legs! He will take on either 🏴 James Wade or 🇳🇱 Dirk van Duijevnbode for a spot in the Quarter-Finals 🇳🇱 Jermaine Wattimena 4⃣-6⃣ Michael Smith 🏴 Average: 93.68 – 102.65 180’s: 1 – 3 Checkout Rate: 30.8% – 46.2% High Finish: 40 – 144

Karel Sedlacek is in a similar position to Smith. The recent ranking title winner beat Sebastian Bialecki (another player chasing qualification) and Wessel Nijman on route to the third round and also needs a deep run to make a qualifying place. He’ll face Josh Rock in the first match of the day.
