Luke Littler finished the last of the 2025 major titles by winning the Players Championship Finals yesterday evening, his sixth PDC ranked major title of the year.
The weekend couldn’t have gone more in Luke Littler’s favour even if he wanted it to.
His two closest rivals in the rankings had a disastrous tournament. Michael van Gerwen failed to qualify for the first time in both his and the tournament’s history!
He was defending runner-up prize money so lost £60k from his two year ranking money while Luke Humphries who was defending winning prize money from 2023 suffered a first round exit to Gian van Veen.
Luke Littler meanwhile went on to win the tournament and has now added an almost £400k buffer at the top of the ranking table.

On route, he registered the highest ever tournament average of 105.66 and added another trophy to his collection.
He only needs to win the European Championship and Winmau World Masters to have won every PDC ranking title.
In just two years on the Tour, he has now also won the fourth most major titles in PDC history.
Luke Littler's nine major titles means he's now up to fourth in the all-time list after less than two seasons as a pro.

The stats/records he’s putting up are incredible for a player aged just 18-years-old.
He’s now going into the highest paying World Darts Championship ever as clear favourite to land the £1 million in winners prize money.
After his latest title win last night though, The Nuke admitted there’s one player in the draw that he wants to avoid in the first round…

Luke Littler Want to Avoid Drawing Just ‘One Player’ at the 2026 World Championship
Luke Littler will be going into the 2026 World Championship as the world number one, reigning world champion and heavy favourite to lift the title and secure the eye-watering £1 million in prize money to the winner.
It’s arguably going to be the biggest darts tournament of all time and after winning 6/8 PDC major tournaments in 2025, Littler will be the one player that everyone will be looking to avoid.
He’s proved throughout the season that over a long enough format, he is close to unbeatable. Phil Taylor echoed this by saying the only way players can beat him is to ‘get him early’.

The draw for the tournament takes place today at around 16:30pm and Littler will be the number one seed for the draw, however, following his win last night surprisingly admitted there’s one player he wants to avoid in the first round…
He said:
“Yeah, I don’t think I’d like to play Beau Greaves in that first round because I don’t think many people would want me to win.”
Much like Littler, Beau Greaves has been a sensation in darts.
Greaves dominated the WDF Women’s tournaments going to 11 major finals since 2022 and winning 10 titles, including three consecutive Women’s World Championships.
She’s had similar success in the PDC winning titles on the Challenge Tour and Development Tour whilst also registering a record 86 consecutive games in the Women’s Series.
Many pros had tipped her for success in the open division alongside the men and after earning her Tour Card last month, she went on to beat Luke Littler and reach the final of the 2025 Winmau World Youth Championship Final.
*Greaves lost the final to Gian van Veen yesterday.
It’s hard to imagine anyone beating Littler on current form but to give Greaves public recognition like that shows how highly regarded she is amongst the top players in darts.
You can see Luke Littler’s post-tournament interview where he discusses this below:
The draw is expected to take place today around 16:30pm and will be announced via the PDC on their social media channels.
