Since Luke Littler burst onto the darts scene at the 2024 World Darts Championship, making the final at 17 years old, he’s gone on to prove that he’s a true darting prodigy.

At the 2025 World Championship, he went one better becoming the youngest ever world champion and now into just his third year as a professional player, he already sits third all-time for PDC major titles won!

We’re not trying to overhype him either.

He’s already had a career that most veteran pro’s would be more than happy to retire with but he’s also playing differently to anything we’ve seen before.

His unorthodox finishes often have even the commentators and darts callers confused when trying to follow the route he’s taking. His unpredictability is entertaining though…

In a Premier League match last year, Littler became the only player in history to take out a nine-dart finish by leaving himself double 15 as the out shot.

His route was: 180, 180, T20, T17, D15

This accuracy across all areas of the board isn’t something that’s new from him either.

PDC footage from 2021 (long before Littler was ‘discovered’), shows The Nuke hitting a nine-darter aged just 14. His age wasn’t the only thing surprising about the finish though…

Luke Littler Hits Nine-dart Finish at 14-years-old Without Needing a 180

At the Gibraltar Open Youth in 2021, a young Luke Littler was recorded hitting a nine-dart finish against Tinus van Tiel, at 14-years-old!

Darts players say they knew about the potential of Littler before he reached the mainstream due to his performances on the youth circuit and this is one such example where we can believe them.

Littler not only registered this impressive finish, he did it in typical unorthodox fashion without hitting a 180 in the build-up!

174 (T20, T19, T19)

177 (T20, T20, T19)

150 (T19, T19, D18)

You can then see the adrenaline fueled reaction to hitting this stunning checkout.

This is a priceless moment to be captured on video and it’s since become one of the most viral darts videos online, reaching close to 1.9m views on YouTube.

It’s also a wholesome moment where you see his opponent smile and nod in recognition of the shot before offering a hand in congratulations.

The comments are also great to read in hindsight with fans stating; “future darts champ in the making”, “I’ve never seen a combo like that before with so many triple 19’s” and “all the best on your darts ambitions”.

Seems like he really was destined for great things in darts 👏
