The 2024 Mr Vegas Grand Slam of Darts draw was announced yesterday evening as Luke Humphries will look to retain his title after being drawn in Group A alongside three-time runner-up James Wade, Mickey Mansell and Rowby-John Rodriguez.
The 2024 Grand Slam of Darts starts later this week as the round-robin tournament will run from November 9-17, taking place at the WV Active Aldersley in Wolverhampton.
The unique tournament format will see eight groups, made up of four players, play each other once in the initial round.
The top two winners from each group will then progress to the second round which then becomes a straight knockout format.
Reigning champion Luke Humphries, who beat Rob Cross in last year’s final – a tournament that would kickstart a dominant 12-month period for the world number 1 – will be looking to retain his title this year as the number 1 seed is drawn in Group A.
He’s matched against three-time runner-up James Wade, World Cup of Darts runner-up Rowby-John Rodriguez and Tour Card Holder Qualifier Mickey Manseel who will make his tournament debut.

Last year’s finalist Rob Cross has been drawn in Group C, he’s matched up against Peter Wright who has lost in the first round of the last two major tournaments and will be looking for an upturn in form at the backend of this season.
Martin Lukeman and Leanard Gates make up the remaining players in this group.
Group F will see Dimitri Van den Bergh joined by Luke Littler who will be making his tournament debut.
Littler has now lost in the first round of his last three major tournaments (in a similar situation to Wright), but in a round-robin format he’ll have more time to get used to the stage and should be favourite to come out top of this group.
Group F also includes Tour Card Holder Qualifier Keane Barry and Asian Championship winner Lourence Ilagan.
Group G could be the 2024 ‘group of death’ as three-seed Michael van Gerwen is joined by two-time runner-up Gary Anderson, World Grand Prix semi-finalist Ryan Joyce and Women’s Serier OOM qualifier Noa-Lynn van Leuven.

Three-time winner MVG was comfortably beaten by Gary Anderson in the European Championship a few weeks ago and will be looking to regain form as the pair meet again.
Noa-Lynn has been at the centre of much controversy in 2024 as the transgender darts player has faced criticism over gender participation in the women’s game.
She will make her tournament debut in what is going to be a very tough group…
