Gerwyn Price won his first title of the 2025 Premier League Darts campaign last night in Dublin, with a 6-3 win over Nathan Aspinall in the final.
Gerwyn Price got his 2025 campaign well underway last night as the Welshman won in Dublin to move up to second in the Premier League Darts table, three points behind leader Luke Humphries.
Price had to overcome Humprhies in the semi-final, as the world number 1 was looking to make it three consecutive weeks in the final. He would also beat Luke Littler and Nathan Aspinall to win the night in convincing fashion.
Last week was filled with controversy in Glasgow.
Constant whistling and booing from the crowd had fans online calling for Glasgow to be removed from the darts schedule going forward and led to the PDC releasing a statement on crowd behaviour.

Gerwyn Price was on much of the receiving end last week, something the Iceman has come accustomed to over the years. In Dublin last night, however, the crowd appeared to be on Price’s side.
This not only had Price pumped up and raring to go but meant that darts fans got to see the best of him as a result…

Gerwyn Price Looking Back to His Best
2024 was a year to forget for Gerwyn Price.
He didn’t win a ranking title (televised or on the Tour events) for the first time since 2017, said he didn’t want to play in the Premier League and ended up finishing 7th, and even talked about retirement.
Missing out on the Grand Slam of Darts seemed to be a turning point though.
This was a tournament he’s won the joint 2nd most of any player and he said sitting at home and missing out on this tournament “made him realise his love for the game”.
He reached the quarter-finals of the 2025 World Championship after this disappointment, has been doing work with a sports psychologist and it now looks like Gezzy is on course to be back to his blistering best.
A ranking title at Players Championship Two last week, followed by his victory last night is showing signs of what could be a big year for the 2021 World Champion.
Darts fans are excited by the prospect…

He may be a controversial character but you can see there’s an appetite from the fans for him to be playing at his best.
There’s no denying that when Gerwyn Price is on form, he’s absolutely box office! (nicely put by the fan comment above)
If he can keep this form going and Michael van Gerwen can find some consistency – after showing glimpses of his elite level recently – the Luke domination could become a four player battle, which would be great viewing for fans of the game 🙏
