Cameron Menzies couldn’t hide his frustration after a surprising first round defeat to Charlie Manby at the 2026 World Championship.
Cameron Menzies came into this tournament as the first World Championship where he’d be competing as a full-time darts player.
Despite having a Tour Card since 2022, Menzies had been juggling darts alongside his day job as a plumber and it wasn’t until earlier this year that he decided the time was right to pursue darts full-time.

A couple of quarter-final runs in major tournaments and ProTour titles in 2025/26 has seen Menzies rise to 26th in the PDC Order of Merit with many tipping him to have a good run at the World Championship this year.
His first round tie against another full-time tradesman in Charlie Manby was seen as a match that Menzies was likely to progress though.
However, ‘Champagne Charlie’ would win the match 3-2 and cause one of the biggest head loss moments we’ve seen at the World Championship…

Cameron Menzies Outburst Following First Round Loss

As he went over to shake Menzies hand though, the cameras catch Menzies having a moment of blind rage…
The Scotsman proceeded to punch the water table a couple of times while Manby watched on unsure of how to respond.
Cameron Menzies (bloody fisted) would eventually turn to shake his hand and referee Kirk Bevins then ushered him to leave the stage, which he would do whilst raising a hand to apologise to the audience as he did so.
Menzies has been known to have emotional moments on stage over the last few years, however, this is the first time we’ve seen him show that degree of anger.
As the incident unfolded, Sky Sports commentator Glen Durrant said that it would be an outburst that Menzies would now regret for the rest of his life.
“It wasn’t the ending we all want to see. I’ll keep it short and sweet, for Cameron Menzies, I think he’ll regret that for the rest of his life. It was not a good watch.”
The PDC initially had the video uploaded on social media channels, however, they have now removed it.
Social media accounts on X are still sharing the footage and a full clip from the incident can be seen below:

Cameron Menzies is usually active on on social media and issued a ‘heartbreaking’ public apology last year after 2024 World Grand Prix loss so there’s a chance he’ll also speak on this incident.
Regardless, there’s likely to be a fine coming his way from the DRA and darts fans across social media are asking for him to look for professional support with this not being the first on-stage incident we’ve seen from the Scotsman…
