2024 Poland Darts Masters Preview

Luke Littler and Michael Van Gerwen return to action this weekend as the next stage of the World Series of Darts takes place in Gliwice for the Poland Darts Masters.

The previous two weekends have seen a Rob Cross v Gerwyn Price final at the US and Nordic Darts Masters series, with each player securing a win.

Unfortunately, Price is not available to make it three consecutive finals as he’s taking a break this week for a holiday before the darts schedule picks up steam for the remainder of 2024.

Stephen Bunting will replace him and we’ll see both Luke Littler and Michael Van Gerwen return from their respective breaks to compete.

The 2024 Poland Darts Masters will take place in Gliwice at the ProZero Arena as eight top PDC players will face off against eight representatives for Easter Europe in the first round.

2024 Poland Darts Masters Preview

Michael Van Gerwen returns to action this weekend and will be looking to retain his Polish Master title.

He won the tournament in Warsaw in convincing fashion last year with 110, 104 and 113 averages.

His form hasn’t been that great of late despite making countless deep runs into tournaments so he’ll be looking to change that this weekend. He comes up against Czech player Karel Sedlacek.

Rob Cross has been in inspired form of late going to consecutive finals in the World Series of Darts this month and on both occasions he has beaten world number one Luke Humphries in the semi-finals.

He will open in the first round against Sebastian Bialecki and hope to extend his finals appearance streak.

Luke Humphries meanwhile can’t seem to get past Cross in recent weeks. He’ll kick off the tournament against Gyorgy Jehirszki as he looks to return to winning ways.

This week will also see the return of Luke Littler. He posted to Instagram to say that he’s not had a chance to practise since the US Masters and that his body clock is messed up.

The draw hasn’t necessarily been kind to him as he came up against Adam Gawlas in the first round.

Gawlas is ranked 66 in the Order of Merit, however, defeated Luke in their last televised matchup in the 2023 UK Open.

It’s fair to say Luke is a different beast a year on from that meeting though.

We expect solid performances from Wright, Smith, and Aspinall but Stephen Bunting will be the player to watch.

He’s had a great return to form in 2024, winning his first ever major at the Masters earlier this year.

These recent call-ups to the World Series of Darts tournaments could also be the platform for him to secure a place in next year’s Premier League.

Currently ranked 16th in the OOM, Bunting has been doing the podcast rounds the last few weeks and on all occasions has made his desire clear that he wants to be in the Premier League next year.

He’s got the fan votes but he’ll need to keep his form going for the remainder of the year if he is to earn his place.
